Friday afternoon we have an amazing opportunity to make a stand against the proposed Mega-Casino and we need your help

We must say to our community, Washington, DC and Connecticut that we do not want the Mohegans and the Cowlitz to build the nation’s 5th largest casino here in Southwest Washington.

Some of the Mohegan Tribal Council is visiting downtown Vancouver on Friday.

We are planning a theatrical event this Friday . . . . . critical mass is essential.

This will be a fun presentation, not confrontational, not disruptive.

It will be a planned, staged sign waving that shows that if this Mega-Casino is build here it will lead to the death of our quality of life and our community as we know it.  How??

-----3:00 PM UNTIL 6:30PM

-----ESTHER SHORT PARK SOUTH END, BY THE CLOCK TOWER


It’s easy to find.  Take the downtown off-ramp and head West.  


-----1.   Traffic Impacts – you think it is bad now, add 16,000 trips per day!

-----2.  School Impacts – studies show that the majority of casino employees are from out of the area non-English speaking.  The employee’s children have a right to attend schools, and tax-payers have an obligation to pay for that education.

-----3.  “he who has the most $$ rules the politics” -- this definitely has to be a factor.  The future of Clark County politics is at stake. 

-----4.  Social Impacts—studies show crime, divorce, embezzlement, suicide all escalate over time.


This is our chance to say “no, we do not want this Mega-Casino here.” 

Please show up and be heard – we need as many as possible.

Make a strong statement . . . young and old alike.  

Come and have a great time.   This will really be fun.
