Your help is needed in the U.S. Senate to make positive changes to the ESA. to make it friendlier towards property owners, farmers, ranchers, loggers, small business owners and local governments. The E.S.A. has become a significant threat to American property owners and jobs. In addition, the ESA in its 32 years of existence has only produced a success rate of 1% recovery of “threatened” or “endangered” species (source: U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service). This well-intentioned, but failing law needs to be fixed. In the past, Congress has made changes to the federal Clean Water Act, the Clean Air Act, and other environmental policies. Now is the time to make positive changes to the ESA. TAKE ACTION NOW! It is expected that the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee will introduce an ESA bill sometime this week. A bill with strong bi-partisan support passed the U.S. House last September. Now it’s time for the Senate to act. The ONLY way the U.S. Senate will take positive action on ESA is for Senators all across the nation to hear from people like you. They need to know that making changes to ESA. is important and that you will be paying close attention as to whether they take the lead and do the right thing – or fall prey to the threats of the environmental community. You need to tell our Senators that now is the time for action. They need to move a bill forward. This is your best chance ever to fix the ESA. Some Senators are sitting on their hands.
