NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO AIRS COMMENTARY ENDORSING ECO-TERRORIST CRIMINAL ARSON ATTACKS ON ARIZONA HOUSES
On 5/16/01 the National Public Radio network aired an outrageous radio commentary on their nationally broadcast Morning Edition extolling eco-terrorist house arsons in Arizona. This is "over the top" even for public radio.
In the words of NPR regular Mary Sojourner of KNAU public radio in Flagstaff:
"When I read [they have] torched another mansion...I want to send money for matches...Vengeance is a moral response." Sound Clip (0:38) Real Audio
- Isn't it irresponsible for NPR to not disassociate themselves from Sojourner's advocacy of criminal felonies?
- Shouldn't NPR ask her what she thinks about the developers and the construction equipment used to build the house where she now lives?
- Shouldn't NPR give an immediate counterpoint instead of plugging her book and playing "happy go lucky - do dah" feel good music?
As a frequent commentator, apparently NPR approves of her views enough to keep inviting her back.
Very poor judgment on the part of NPR management and program directors. Someone needs to be canned. And contributors have to ask themselves what their money is supporting.
