MARCH 7 ALERT – ALL HANDS ON DECK, THIS IS HUGE

The House Resources Subcommittee on Forests and Forest Health will hold a Field Hearing on “Crisis on the National Forests: Containing the Threat of Wildland Fire to the Environment and Communities” 

Friday, March 7, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. Flagstaff, AZ. 

The hearing will take place at the Council Chambers, City Hall 211, West Aspen Ave , Flagstaff , AZ 86001 . 

THIS IS TENTATIVE INFORMATION BUT PROVIDED SO PEOPLE CAN START MAKING PLANS.

Tentative Plans are for at least 7 congressmen to be present including:
Richard Pombo, Chairman, Committee on Resources
Scott McInnis
John Shadegg
J. D. Hayworth
Rick Renzi
Greg Walden

The Panels scheduled to testify are: (again this is a tentative schedule)

Panel 1

Panel 2 
Patrick Moore, British Columbia
Tim Pollard, Dep Dir, Colorado, DNR subject Water 
Tom Kolb, Northern AZ U, subject: Bark Beatle 
Wally Covington, Northern AZ U, subject Fire and wildlife
Tom Robinson, Dir, Grand Canyon Trust (I guess they had to have one green)

Panel 3
Gene Kelly, Mayor, Showlow
Kent Gibson, Pulp and Paper Resource Council, Snowflake
Dallas Massey, Chairman White Mountain Apache
Lincoln Philippi, Owner Rough & Ready Lumber in Oregon

We know the greens are going to be present.
