Eminent Domain Vote In VA Legislature Wed, Jan 26 at Noon

IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED

Eminent Domain Vote in the Virginia Legislature – Wed, Jan 26

You have a very limited amount of time. Please CALL these delegates to ask them to vote for these bills to curb condemnation (eminent domain). You can call Monday, Tuesday and up to 12:00 Noon on Wednesday.

These legislators must be deluged with calls.

They’re in the Civil Law Sub-Committee of the House Courts of Justice Committee.

They meet at noon on Wed to vote on two eminent domain bills:

HB 1820 – requires condemning authorities to notify owners before entering their property.

HB 1821 – requires reimbursement of costs and expenses if the condemner’s offer was more than 15% below market value of property.

This is the only chance now to get eminent domain protections on the books this year.

Call your delegate first at his Richmond office. If you have time, call the others.
